Drawing and Installation Process
Because of the theme of "The Wizard of Oz", the main color of the machine was determined to be green, and a lot of green was used in the final coloring of the machine. On the one hand, I wanted to avoid the color being too monotonous, and on the other hand, I wanted to further express the fantasy and romantic colors of "The Wizard of Oz". I used other colors to embellish the large area of green, and I also painted different scenes for each different component. The paintings on different components also represent the different scenery that Dorothy and her friends and the group met in the pursuit of their respective ideals. Finally, in order to further deepen the theme of "The Wizard of Oz" and try to express part of the storyline, I added some character stickers. At the same time, I hope that the last step of the machine can also be said to be the purpose of a series of chain reactions-the raised small flags can show a more specific storyline. Therefore, I placed the model of the Emerald City under the small flag, and the flag will eventually rise on the top of the Emerald City, representing one of the most important experiences during the journey of Dorothy and her friends, they came to the Emerald City. The entire Rube Goldberg machine expresses the story that Dorothy came to an unfamiliar land by accident due to a tornado, met strange friends who each had different troubles, and came to the Emerald City through difficulties with them.
